Since its inception, 15 years ago, the Way Out West Bird Expo has become a major event in Phoenix. Held twice a year, April and November, at the State Fairgrounds at 19th Avenue and McDowell, over 300 vendors and 5,000 attendees come from all over Arizona, as well as many other states. The event hosts people selling all kinds of exotic birds and bird related items such as cages, feed, bird toys, T-shirts and more.
Since many birds are brought from other areas, the Expo offers a wide selection ranging from tiny finches and canaries to majestic Cockatoos and Macaws. Prices can range from $5 for a common finch to $10,000 for a Hyacinth Macaw or to $12,000 for a Black Palm Cockatoo.
The Way Out West Bird Expo is not only the largest bird mart in
Arizona, but it has also become one of the largest in the country. A unique experience on
April 2, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admission is only $6 for adults, children $3 and five year olds and under
free.

The WAY OUT WEST BIRD EXPO, Arizona's biggest bird mart will be held :
